This nifty device links up with an app on your phone so you can control your heating remotely. It’s perfect for warming the house up before everyone gets home on a chilly evening. The best part is, it learns from your behaviour. After you’ve done the same routine for a while, your smart thermostat will start doing it for you. It still checks for changes in case you develop a new schedule. This clever approach saves enormous amounts of energy, making energy usage greener and saving you money.
How do bills and payments work with First Utility?
It’s simple to budget when you’re with First Utility. You get monthly statements in paper or digital format. Unlike the quarterly energy statements issued by other suppliers, monthly bills make it easier to keep an eye on things. You can monitor usage and make changes to keep your energy bills as low as possible. Some of our plans have a paperless discount. If you’re okay with managing your account online, you can save £24 annually.
The easiest way to pay bills is by Direct Debit. If you choose to pay this way, you can arrange a monthly payment and then you’ll receive our Direct Debit discount. This saves you £3 per fuel per month. So if you have both gas and electricity, you’ll save £72 a year. There’s no obligation, though. You can also pay bills online with a credit or debit card, through your online banking, by cheque or by cash and cheque at any bank.
Who is my energy supplier?
If you’ve just moved into a new home and don’t know who your energy supplier is, there are a few ways of finding out. If you haven’t already, speak to the estate agent, landlord or previous occupant as they might be able to help. Check the post as existing energy suppliers may have sent letters addressed to ‘The Occupier’ if they were informed of the move. When you still can’t find out, it’s time to call the experts.
